The team at Antillion has been designing, manufacturing, assembling, and maintaining edge servers since the late 1990s. In 2021, we challenged ourselves to start from a clean slate with a new vision for the digital edge. We call this new vision PACE, embodying the consistent rapid innovation that underpins our edge platforms now and into the future.
Our observations of the human-system interactions at the edge shaped our understanding and vision for Pace, particularly the unique demands of operating in unforgiving environments. Recognising the need to address both current and future challenges, we embraced and sought a fresh perspective.
These constraints ignited our passion to solve the complex technical and user challenges at the edge. Our engineers prioritise user experience and human-system interactions, and through systematic marginal gains, the Pace ecosystem was born. Pace is a versatile collection of servers engineered to excel in demanding environments while delivering consistent high performance, from data centres to field deployments.
Our Pace AIR range takes the lessons learned from our experience with rugged edge servers and blends them with traditional air-cooled commercial servers.
"Our goal is to make sure that people have the right equipment for the job."
"Operating at the edge, where users and engineers are confronted with disconnected, disadvantaged, intermittent communications whilst still needing to run critical workloads, demanded new thinking, new designs, new outcomes."
Finally, our Pace FRONTIER range builds on the rugged servers we have designed and delivered for the past decade, adding novel scaling and adaptability concepts.
Simplicity was paramount in our design. We wanted equipment that felt familiar and intuitive, enabling users to quickly understand and operate it. This simplicity drives rapid setup and deployment of edge capabilities. Our PACE platforms, with their intuitive design, are compact and user-friendly, making them deployable by anyone, anywhere, at any speed. This quick setup and takedown capability ensures that rapid deployment is a standard feature of our PACE servers.
We provide the flexibility to choose the right system tailored to your specific use case. We understand that edge use cases vary, and having a variety of options is essential. Whether you need robust performance in a controlled environment or rugged reliability in extreme settings, our solutions are designed to meet your needs. This adaptability ensures that you can confidently deploy our systems wherever your operations take you, knowing they will perform optimally under varying conditions.
The term SWaP (size, weight, and power) has traditionally been used to quantify edge platforms. However, we aim to define this standard by focusing on portability. We have meticulously factored in handling, balance, and grip to ensure that our solutions can be easily and comfortably carried. When operating at the edge, these subtle yet crucial design elements make a significant difference. Our portable solutions ensure that mobility is never a compromise, allowing users to transport and deploy our servers effortlessly, regardless of the environment. This commitment to portability enhances operational efficiency and flexibility, making our equipment the ideal choice for dynamic and challenging settings.
SWaP vs. performance has always been a key decision when designing and selecting any edge capability; typically, lower SWaP gives lower performance. We decided to bake extendability into Pace via a concept we call Sidecar. Our design allows for easy addition, removal, and maintenance while preserving the key usability features. Our solutions are designed to be extensible, with specific capabilities that can be seamlessly integrated or swapped to meet your evolving needs without altering the core platform. This extendibility ensures that your infrastructure remains flexible and future-proof, ready to adapt as your requirements change. Sidecars enable the addition of enhanced capabilities to an existing Pace platform, such as GPUs, DPUs, additional storage, FPGAs, RAID controllers, time servers, switching, and routing.
A key concept with the Pace ecosystem is the ability to build and reconfigure IT architectures to suit specific requirements. By enabling this modular approach, we empower system architects to create unique capabilities to match their specific outcomes. Our platforms are designed to be versatile, providing tailored configurations that precisely align with operational needs. This composability empowers operators to optimise their infrastructure dynamically, ensuring it adapts to their evolving challenges and maximises overall effectiveness.
We believe the design features described above set our PACE server apart from other solutions.
At Antillion, we redefine the boundaries of IT infrastructure with innovation at our core. Our servers embody a harmonious blend of portability, adaptability, composability, and extendability, setting a new standard for versatility and reliability in the industry. With Pace, you're not just investing in hardware; you're embracing agility and resilience, ensuring your edge outcomes meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
Welcome to a future where you can have low SWaP with high performance that adapts to the ever-changing demands at the edge.
